(Schenectady, New York)
Applied GIS, Inc. (AGIS)
and its partner, PlanGraphics (PGI) were awarded
a contract by the New Jersey Pinelands Commission
to develop a new information system for the Commission
to track and analyze housing related data. The Commission
currently utilizes several separate systems to manage
development reviews, zoning, and code violations
tracking, with data stored in a variety of file
formats. AGIS and PGI will develop a new, comprehensive
system using .NET web services, Oracle databases,
and ESRI's SDE and ArcIMS technologies to integrate
and deliver the functionality of five separate systems
in combination with Internet-enabled GIS. When fully
implemented, the Commission and its partner organizations
will have broad and powerful access to housing related
data and analysis tools.
This is AGIS first foray
into the .NET architecture and promises to yield
significant gains in the firm's ability lead clients
in the application of new technologies.
